GETTING STARTED

A one-on-one introductory session is recommended, but not required, to assess your needs. This session is designed to help you to begin to create an awareness of your deep torso muscles and establish a foundation in the basics of Pilates. Group class sessions or a series of private sessions will develop these skills. All private one-on-one sessions are tailored to suit your needs.
  1. Private personal training: one-on-one instruction
  2. Semi-private training: two participants with an instructor
  3. Instructor-led groups: join a scheduled group class or coordinate your own group of three to six people

Sessions and classes are typically one hour in length, but may be adjusted to suit your needs. Please arrive a few minutes early to receive your full session.

INSTRUCTORS

All of our instructors are certified by STOTT PILATES. Our highly qualified instructors come to us from various backgrounds, such as massage therapy, physiotherapy, dance, and personal training. These instructors bring their unique knowledge to your sessions. To benefit from their different strengths, we recommend working with more than one instructor.

GROUP CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Introductory Matwork - Duration: 60 minutes

The Introductory Matwork class teaches the five basic principles of STOTT PILATES. The exercises taught help to build the strong foundation required to move on to the next level. This mat-based workout is designed to aid in developing longer, leaner muscles, establish core strength and stability, and heighten mind-body awareness. Small props and equipment may be incorporated to add variety or to modify exercises. All Matwork classes are limited to six participants.

Essential Matwork - Duration: 60 minutes

In the Essential Matwork classes, you will continue to progress through Essential level exercises. Small equipment including stability balls, resistance bands, foam rollers, fitness circles, mini balls, and weighted balls are used to challenge you. Participants are encouraged to stay in the Essential class until they feel confident enough to enter the Intermediate class or the instructor recommends advancement.

Intermediate Matwork - Duration: 60 minutes

For an added challenge, Matwork classes at the Intermediate level will take you through a dynamic full-body workout, stretching and toning all muscle groups and focusing on improving flexibility and core strength. Small equipment introduced in the Essential class is used here at a more challenging level. BOSU trainers are also used at this level.

Group Reformer - Duration: 60 minutes

This class will teach clients how to apply the basic principles of STOTT PILATES on the Reformer and how to adjust the Reformer for each individual. Participants will get an invigorating total body workout, progressing from the Essential to Intermediate level. The pace is moderate, yet challenging, and will tone and lengthen muscles using spring resistance. Class is limited to five participants.

Group Stability Chair - Duration: 60 minutes

The Stability Chair is another great piece of equipment that uses spring resistance for a total body workout. Matwork is incorporated into this class and participants are further challenged by the Stability Chair. The Stability Chair also provides an excellent prenatal workout. Classes will progress through the Essential level to Intermediate level. Class is limited to five participants.

Circuit Training - Duration: 60 minutes

This non-stop Circuit Training class alternates between exercises on the mat, Reformer, Stability Chair, BOSU, Foam Roller and other small equipment. This class is suited to those who are accomplished in Essential level mat exercises and are familiar with the Reformer and Stability Chair. An instructor will be at each station to ensure that participants are performing each exercise correctly. This is a class for clients ready to add a challenge to their workout. Class will be limited to five participants at each station.
